The Divine Mercy

“Go nowhere among the Gentiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And preach as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying, give without pay. Take no gold, nor silver, nor copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the laborer deserves his food. And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it, and stay with him until you depart. As you enter the house, salute it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.” (Mt 10:5-13)

I shall not die, but live: and shall declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:14-17)
“And Peter going down out of the boat walked upon the water to come to Jesus. But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me. The Diary of St. Faustina
“I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: ~Jesus, I trust in You~.” (327)
“The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross.” (299)
“Happy is the one who will dwell in their shelter for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him.” (299)
“By means of this image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it.” (570)
“I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over (its) enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory.” (48 )
“The flames of mercy are burning Me. I desire to pour them out upon human souls. Oh, what pain they cause Me when they do not want to accept them! Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace.” (1074) “Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My mercy.” (300)
“Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.” (848) “Before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the doors of My mercy. He who refuses to pass through the doors of My mercy must pass through the doors of My justice.” (1146)
“I want this image to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday is to be the Feast of Mercy.” (49)
“I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day are open all the divine floodgates through which graces flow. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet.” (699)
“The Feast of My Mercy has issued forth from My very depths for the consolation of the whole world (1517) and is confirmed in the vast depths ofmy tender mercies.” (420)
“I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy.” (687) “Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death.” (1520)
“The graces of mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is – trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me, because I pour all the treasures of My graces into them. I rejoice that they ask for much, because it is My desire to give much, very much.” (1578) “The soul which will trust in My mercy is most fortunate, because I Myself take care of it.” (1273) “No soul that has called upon My Mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness.” (1541)
“The image is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works.” (742)
“I demand … deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love for Me. You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolveyourself from it. I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbor: the first – by deed, the second – by word, the third – by prayer. In these three degrees is contained the fullness of mercy and it is an unquestionnable proof of love for Me. By this means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My Mercy.” (742)
“If a soul does not exercise mercy somehow or other, it will not obtain My mercy on the day of judgement. Oh, if only souls knew how to gather eternal treasure for themselves, they would not be judged, for they would forestall My judgement with their mercy.” (1317) “My daughter, know that My Heart is mercy itself. From this sea of mercy, graces flow out upon the whole world. … I desire that your heart be an abiding place of My mercy. I desire that this mercy flow out upon the whole world through your heart. Let no one who approaches you go away without that trust in My mercy which I so ardently desire for souls.” (1777)
Pope Benedict XVI
“Remember that what counts before the Lord is to dwell in His love and to make His love shine forth for others.” From the Pope’s meeting with youth and seminarians, Yonkers, NY, April 20, 2008.
“‘Go, therefore, and learn the meaning of the words: “It is mercy that I want and not sacrifice.”‘ This word of God has reached us, through the Gospels, as one of the syntheses of the entire Christian message. True religion consists in the love of God and neighbor.” From the Pope’s reflection before praying the Angelus with several thousand people gathered in St. Peter’s Square, Sunday, June 8, 2008.
