[...] I had the privilege of coaching 15-year-olds in basketball for several years. My last year, we had a great team. We had ten players in total, and nine of them were playing on their high-school team. The whole nine had been playing together for years, and some of them went on to [...] Read more… [...]

[...] A few months ago, I was in late night Eucharistic Adoration at St. Clement’s Shrine in Boston. Now, I have the 3am-4am Saturday night shift, and with the Shrine being right near the nightclub hotspots, the only things going on around the area are, as an old friend used to say, “nuthin good”.
To trust in His mercy, to go to Him in a spirit of repentance, that is all He asks. That's what He hopes for. Everything prior is forgotton, and He wants us to trust in that too.

A beautiful story, Jerome, of love, courage and unity.

Lightborrower, I just read that very quote in the letters of Dorothy Day book that I just blogged about. D.D. wrote: "And Catherine of Siena assures us that "all the way to heaven is heaven, because He said, I am the Way." And just a few pages later she quotes what you said in the second part of your sentence; she writes: "There is another bit of Scripture which stands out in my mind these days. It is this: Where sin abounds, there did grace more abound. Resting in this promise, I am content." Wow; what are the chances of that? God-incidences. Two!

Thank you, Jerome; I knew I could count on you. (and I'm counting the milk in the coffee as nutrition). If it's some kind of fake milk, please don't tell me.

Amen. Her gift to Him was man's utmost. His gift to her was God's utmost. Your gift of yes was to them both. All the way to heaven is heaven, and indeed, where sin abounded, grace abounded even more. May God bless..

Gab,

I would say such a person wants to have the same flavor as their caffeine days, but without the spinning head. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. Nutrition? Dunkin Donuts has nutrition?
