He Never Leaves Us In The Dark

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

When my brother and sister-in-law came home from DC after my mother died, we had to scramble for some sleeping arrangements in my parents’ house. When it was all said and done, my brother and I slept in the room that my mother had been staying in, with the large Divine Mercy image.

Well, anyway, as I was dozing off, I remembered my mother telling me a few days earlier that Jesus was always with her. “He’s always here,” she said, motioning toward the image. “Even at night, He’s lit up. Whenever I wake up, I can see Him.” I wasn’t sure what that meant. But now as I was falling asleep, I wondered.

Well, later on around 3 or 4 in the morning I woke up. From where I was sleeping, I turned over and looked at the image.

Lo and behold, a part of the image was illuminated brightly. It was exactly the width of the image, from the top of His head to His waist. His Face and His Heart shone brightly.

I got up and walked over to the window in the room and looked out, to find the source. In the process, I woke my brother up with my stumbling. We both looked at the image. “Do you see that?” I said. “Yeah.” “That’s awesome, huh?” “Yeah.”

As I looked out the window, the neighbor’s back porch light shone brightly.

The sun shall be no more
your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon
give light to you by night;
but the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
Your sun shall no more go down,
nor your moon withdraw itself;
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of mourning shall be ended
.” (Is 60:19-20)

If we receive Jesus’ advances, He never abandons us, He never leaves us alone – day or night.

He never leaves us in the dark.
